About Us

Nicole Cromwell Gallery is an artist-owned gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea devoted to the original paintings of local artist Nicole Cromwell. Find it in Su Vecino Courtyard on Dolores Street, between 5th and 6th, where abstract seascapes, florals, and coastal-inspired works hang in a small, welcoming space.

Nicole was voted Best Artist in the 2026 Golden Pine Cone Awards by readers of the Carmel Pine Cone. The gallery has been named to Monterey County Weekly’s Best of Monterey Bay guide two years running and was a 2025 Best Art Gallery finalist with the Carmel Chamber of Commerce.

A former critical care nurse turned full-time artist, Nicole has called the Monterey Peninsula home for nearly 30 years. Her paintings draw on the light, atmosphere, and natural beauty of the Central Coast, with an emphasis on color, open compositions, and a sense of calm.

Her work is held in private collections across the United States and abroad, and in healthcare settings locally and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. It has appeared on the cover of the American Journal of Critical Care. Original paintings can be shipped anywhere, and Nicole works with collectors, interior designers, and other design professionals on artwork for residential, hospitality, and healthcare spaces. She takes a limited number of commissions each year.
