About Us
Monterey Bay AI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that teaches people to use AI safely, ethically and with confidence. We work with everyone. Cost, background and tech skills should never decide who gets to learn.
We teach in plain language with real examples and hands-on practice. Every class leaves people with something they can use the same day. Every lesson covers safety, privacy and the ways AI can mislead you. Most of our programs are free or sliding-scale.
What we offer:
- ChatGPT and Chill, a workshop series that pairs AI learning with food, music and community
- Workshops on spotting AI scams, deepfakes and misinformation, and on protecting your privacy
- Training for small businesses, plus help for nonprofits that want to cut paperwork with AI
- AI skills training for job seekers, hourly workers, career changers and veterans
- The Ethical AI Stamp of Approval, which recognizes local businesses that use AI transparently and responsibly
- Free guides, a prompt library and video lessons on YouTube and our website
- Human Again classes, which are hands-on and screen-free, in movement, gardening, farming, art and slow living
Over the next three years we're adding Spanish-language workshops, small business clinics and office hours, a beginner-to-certificate curriculum, and a train-the-trainer program for teachers and community leaders. Long term, we're working toward a nature reserve and retreat center for learning, rest and regenerative farming.
We use AI to speed up, so we can slow down. The point of saving time is spending it on your health and the people around you.
