Gelato by the Sea was born from a simple wish and a family’s love. Our founders, Angelina and Danny Hala, were inspired by their sons—9-year-old Max, who dreamed of a gelato shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and little Michael, who shares his brother’s love for every sweet, joyful scoop.
To bring that dream to life, they partnered with a master pastry chef from Florence, Italy, who crafts each batch of gelato with time-honored techniques, using only the finest imported ingredients. From rich, creamy flavors to refreshing vegan gelato and vibrant sorbetto, every spoonful is a taste of authentic Italian tradition scooped with love by the sea.
