Located in the historic La Rambla building on Lincoln Street a half block off Ocean in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, the Austern Cohen Gallery features original paintings by artist Michael Paul Austern Cohen.
Born in 1965, Michael is from the Monterey Peninsula. He is an accomplished artist and poet. He paints exclusively in oils on large canvas, composing with primary colors for depth and simple space, exploring cityscapes, natural geometries, and occasional abstract moments. Adjacent to his expression in painting, Michael's poetry portrays frames of mind, emotions and experiences, breathing characteristic color into life's rhythms and moods, splashed by occasional whispers from his subconscious.
