Job Description
The Lead Cook will prepare  meals 5 days a week, including vegetarian and omnivorous menus for our monastic community and retreat guests. Our kitchen is a monastic kitchen located at our Hermitage and the main meal is only lunch. Lunch is the only meal to be prepared.

The Lead Cook will plan and perform food preparation and meals, and modify menus or create new ones that result in nutritious yet humble dishes meeting the standards of the monastic community.

The Lead Cook must be familiar with county health department sanitation regulations and knowledgeable of food allergens. The Lead Cook will  organize the kitchen and keep the work environment clean. Work schedule is 5 days a week, approximately 4-5 hours per shift. Pay is by the shift.

The Hermitage is 1:45 hours south of Carmel on Highway 1.
