Part-Time Gallery Assistant
Downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea | $17.50/hour | Approximately 4 hours/week | Flexible Schedule
I’m looking for a reliable, organized, and creative part-time gallery assistant to help support my growing art business in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. I’m the 2026 Best Local Artist winner, awarded by Monterey County Weekly.
Responsibilities include:
- Inventory & Organization: Organize artwork and products, check inventory, and assist with product preparation.
- Customer Service & Sales: Help welcome visitors, answer questions, and assist with art and product sales.
- Social Media & Content Creation: Capture photos and short videos of artwork, new arrivals, gallery activities, and events for Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Website & Product Updates: Help organize product information, update website listings, and keep inventory and product details current.
- Community Outreach & Promotion: Research potential partnerships, local events, and promotional opportunities to increase gallery visibility and connect with the community.
- Special Projects & Events: Assist with preparations for exhibitions, workshops, art events, and other creative projects.
- Gallery Presentation: Help maintain an organized, attractive, and welcoming gallery environment.
Ideal Candidate
Someone who is dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, friendly, and enthusiastic about art and creativity. Good communication and organizational skills are important. Experience with Instagram, photography, short-form video, Canva, website updates, or retail sales is a plus.

- Compensation: $17.50 per hour
