The Forgotten Men
American aviators shot down over North Vietnam show us, for the first time, the prisoner-of-war camps around Hanoi where they struggled to survive up to 8-1/2 years. Not knowing if their husbands were dead or alive, their wives banded together to become a powerful voice, forcing the U.S. government to save their men. This powerful film, 30 years in the making, includes the only footage ever allowed of the former POWs returning to the camps.
Will Furman, the producer-director of this work in progress, will answer questions after the screening. Everett Alvarez, born in Salinas, is one of the featured POWs.
