CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif. — “After more than 20 years working alongside local, state, and federal leaders in homeland security, I’ve learned that the biggest breakthroughs don’t come from new equipment or bigger budgets — they come from how leaders think. At the Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS), I’ve seen how strategic education transforms directors, elected officials, fire chiefs, police captains, and emergency managers into leaders who can anticipate crises, break down silos, and truly partner across every level of government. In this talk, I’ll share what two decades on the front lines of that mission have taught me — and why investing in people, not just technology, is the smartest path forward for homeland security.”
 
The program will be held in Diment Hall at The Carmel Foundation on Wednesday, August 26, at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free, refreshments will be served, and the program is open to the public.
