Limmud: A Day of Jewish Learning

Congregation Beth Israel presents Limmud, a festival of ideas modeled on a global movement that began in London in 1980 and now reaches 42 countries. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, participants at Hidden Valley Music Seminars in Carmel Valley choose their own path through 20 workshops in four blocks: the psychology of antisemitism, premodern Jewish healing ritual, a history of Jews in performance, an interfaith panel, a panel on Jewish end-of-life traditions, and more. Rabbi David Jaffe delivers the keynote; UCSF stress researcher Elissa Epel gives the featured plenary. Everyone is welcome; no background needed. Admission is $36 and includes lunch.
