Join us for a celebration of culture and community at the Carmel Jewish Food Festival!
We are excited to announce the return of a cherished local tradition! Bring your family and friends to the annual Carmel Jewish Food Festival at Congregation Beth Israel on Sunday, August 25th, from 10am to 3pm. Enjoy traditional Jewish favorites such as blintzes, kugel, latkes, matzah ball soup, and knishes and discover your new favorite dishes.
Rabbi Bruce Greenbaum extends a warm invitation to all, remarking, “Our Jewish Food Festival allows our congregation to share many wonderful aspects of our Jewish culture with the greater community of the Monterey Peninsula. It is one of my favorite days on Congregation Beth Israel’s calendar.”
Rabbi Greenbaum will conduct a guided sanctuary tour, offering an intimate look at a Torah scroll and insights into Jewish customs and practices. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with the rabbi. In addition, the festival will feature other engaging activities such as storytelling, Israeli folk dancing, kid crafts and the crowd-favorite Jewish Wedding reenactment!
Join us at Congregation Beth Israel, located at 5716 Carmel Valley Road in Carmel. Complimentary onsite parking, located behind the temple, will ensure a seamless visit.
To savor the best while avoiding the rush, we also offer pre-ordering for pickup on Saturday, August 24th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Orders can be placed online between July 28th to August 18th at carmelbethisrael.org.
Representing a beacon of warmth and inclusivity, Congregation Beth Israel continues to be the vibrant heart of Jewish life in the Monterey Peninsula Area, and is open to people of all ages, races, and abilities, welcoming interfaith families, people who are single, and LGBTQ+.
