Free Yourself from the Inner Critic

The “Inner Critic” is an inner voice that judges and evaluates us – it is always watching our actions, thoughts, feelings, and appearance. It is the structure in our psyche that we often unconsciously take to be the voice of truth, even though it is not.

This is a heartfelt invitation to anyone who at times doubts themselves and feels small, ashamed, unmotivated or simply bad. Likely, these feelings are caused by the internalized messages of our Inner Critic – and it is often eye-opening to see how much suffering and limitation the Inner Critic creates in our minds, hearts, and bodies.

If we are to move closer to the truth of who we are, we need to intentionally explore the impact of the Inner Critic on our daily experience and clearly see how it resists the truth of our nature. If we want union with our soul and spirit, then we need to understand how to recognize and disengage from the self-judgment that prevents us from realizing that we are indeed love itself.

This workshop includes:

• Mindfulness meditation
• Brief overview of the Inner Critic and where it comes from
• Paired interactive exercise (if you prefer, you can work as an individual – simply bring a journal to write in).
• Q&A

You will learn how to recognize the Inner Critic and how to identify where it comes from in your history and how it impacts you. Then you will learn a simple technique to disengage from the judgment of the Inner Critic and somatically experience inner space and freedom.
