The 2026 CASI Student Art Contest display and awards ceremony will occur on May 31 at 430pm at the studio of Rene Romero Schuler, 559 Tyler Street, Monterey. The keynote speaker will be Rene herself, talking about her inspiration journal as one of our world’s greatest living artists. Also speaking will be artist and coach Katie Bruzzone, who is the leader of the CASI student contests.
At this event CASI anticipates awarding a total of six scholarships to students scoring highest. This year, three of the scholarships will be based on our expert panel of judges; we are adding three new scholarships based upon students who prefer to donate their works to CASI. These awards will be based upon the outcome of such student works receiving the highest bids at a silent auction culminating during the art display itself. If you are interested in acquiring one of the auction entries, arrive fifteen minutes early to slip in a bid.
Students from all over California have submitted exceptional creative works on the theme of reflecting on nature and human reflection. Works feature a variety of media, including painting, watercolor, collage, etching, sculpture and photography.
Complimentary appetizers, wine and non alcoholic beverages will be served. There is no attendance charge for submitting students, their families, their teachers, their friends and all CASI members.
