DESCRIPTION:The choices we make every day can play an important role in supporting brain health throughout our lives. On Wednesday\, August 19\, at 2:30 p.m.\, The Carmel Foundation welcomes the Alzheimer's Association for "Building Healthy Brain Habits\," an engaging and informative Wednesday Program focused on practical ways to support memory\, thinking\, and lifelong brain wellness.\n\n \n\nThe program will be presented by Barbara Rhoades\, a retired nurse practitioner who served for many years as the lead provider at a memory evaluation center. Rhoades is also a community educator and advocate and co-facilitates support groups in Santa Cruz.\n\nDuring the presentation\, attendees will explore how everyday choices including staying physically active\, eating well\, and caring for heart health may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Rhoades will discuss the important connection between heart and brain health and offer practical strategies for strengthening healthy habits participants may already have.\n\n \n\nAttendees will also have an opportunity to begin developing a personalized action plan for supporting their brain health. Whether just beginning to think about brain wellness or looking for ways to build on existing habits\, participants will leave with practical steps they can incorporate into everyday life.\n\n \n\nThe program will be held in Diment Hall at The Carmel Foundation on Wednesday\, August 19\, at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free\, refreshments will be served\, and the program is open to the public.
