Midwestern Nights is a collaborative exhibition by three photographers from Chicago who have spent their careers documenting the urban landscapes of the plains states and the rust belt\, finding beauty\, strength\, and resilience. This work explores the nocturnal world of Midwest cities and towns. Each artist brings their unique vision to the project\, from Jordano's look at surviving structures in transitional neighborhoods of Detroit\, to Hill's capturing of the essence of small rural towns in Illinois and Iowa\, and Bailey's collection of vernacular scenes of the heartland.\n\n\n\nThe night creates a distinctive atmosphere in these images\, one that isolates the scene and allows for an uninhibited and contemplative view. There are stories in these images stories of perseverance\, fortitude and survival. Though devoid of people\, these images overflow with a human presence that is palpable.\n\n\n\nMidwestern Nights depicts three distinct views of the middle of our country\, and while each photographer presents personal views of the Midwest\, the images blend seamlessly to expose common themes\, moods\, and methodology.\n\n \n\nDon't miss the chance to meet these three artists and storytellers during their artist walk-through on opening night on August 2!
