DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Kathy Sharpe's new Gallery & Studios and Randy Tunnell's new Book Release! Enjoy small bites from Grasing's and refreshing beverages as we celebrate the opening of this beautiful art studio and the launch of an inspiring new book.\n\n\n\nAbout Kathy Sharpe\n\nBorn in Chicago and raised in Winnetka\, Illinois. My education in art began at the Chicago Art Institute when I was in grammar school.  My grandfather was a costume designer for the Vienna Opera and my cousin is a well-known cartoonist and an accomplished watercolorist.\n\nI am primarily an oil painter\, inspired by nature and still life.  I took up watercolor in 1990 when my husband received the Nobel Prize in Economics.  We were traveling extensively and I was able to take watercolors wherever we went.\n\n\n\nI have had thirty one-person shows\, been included in forty juried shows and participated in numerous group shows.  My work is included in private collections in Europe\, Japan and fifteen U.S. states.  It has also been sold by Gumps\, Nordstrom and Nieman Marcus.\n\n\n\nTwenty-four of my paintings have been reproduced on needlepoint canvas. I am represented by DJ Designs in San Francisco.\n\n\n\nAbout Randy Tunnell\n\nAs a photographer of nearly three decades\, Randy Tunnell has always enjoyed photographing human beings more than any other sujbject. His new collection of portraits in Carmel & Big Sur Painters\, Bohemian Legacy\, features 100 of his favorite kind of human beings creatives! \n\n\n\nTunnell began his career in news and journalism photography and when his "day job" began interfering with his freelance assignments\, he started his own business.\n\n\n\nHis new book is an homage to the local arts community.  Tunnell was honored to be welcomed by so many painters into their workspaces and galleries\, and considers the project to be an important local historical record.
