SUMMARY:ICDC UNPLUGGED: Songs After Sunset
DESCRIPTION:ICDC Unplugged: Songs After Sunset\n\n\n\nSaturday\, September 19\, 2026 at 8:00 PM\n\nCarmel Mission Basilica\n\nHow many choral pieces do you know with Carmel in the title?\n\nOn September 19\, you can hear one for the very first time.\n\nComposer and I Cantori bass Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli's new Carmel Point sets Robinson Jeffers' poem about the landscape just beyond our doors. Jeffers wrote about this coastline with an unsentimental eye: the sea\, the rocks\, the headlands\, the vastness of the natural world and our relatively small place within it. Anderson-Bazzoli has now taken those words and given them another life in music.\n\nI Cantori commissioned Carmel Point for our 45th Anniversary Season\, and we wanted its first performance to happen here\, at home.\n\nIt is part of Songs After Sunset\, an evening that strips choral music down to its most elemental form: voices singing together\, without orchestra\, in the candlelit Carmel Mission. The program brings together P rt\, Messiaen\, Bruckner\, Brahms\, Reger\, Rheinberger\, Barber and Wolf\, composers whose music can be intensely personal\, contemplative\, strange\, beautiful and wonderfully absorbing when you have the chance to hear it up close.\n\nThis is a concert for anyone who would enjoy turning down the volume of everyday life for an hour or two. You don't need to know the repertoire. You don't need to know anything about choral music. Just come\, sit with us by candlelight\, and listen.\n\nICDC Unplugged: Songs After Sunset\n\nSaturday\, September 19 at 8:00 PM\n\nCarmel Mission Basilica\n\n3080 Rio Road\, Carmel-by-the-Sea\n\nTickets: General Admission $49 | Reserved Seating $65\n\nStudents\, Under 30\, Military & Teachers $21\n\nChildren under 12 $10
