DESCRIPTION:Please join the Carmel Chamber of Commerce\, Cypress Inn and Doris Day Animal Foundation in celebrating what would have been Doris Day's 102nd birthday on April 3. Carmel's beloved resident until her death in 2019\, Day was not only an award-winning recording artist and number one female box office film star\, but a pioneering animal welfare advocate\, credited with helping make Carmel the "dog-friendliest town in America."\n\n \n\nWe invite you to stop by the Cypress Inn Wednesday\, April 3\, between 2:00 and 5:00 pm to help us toast Doris' birthday and meet dogs looking for forever homes.  Lea Price of the Doris Day Animal Foundation will be signing the recently-published Doris Day: Images of a Hollywood Icon coffee-table book of rare and never-before-seen images from Day's private collection.  Selected DVDs and CDs will also be available.  All proceeds will benefit DDAF\, which continues to carry on Doris' legacy.  \n\n\n\nThe celebration will culminate with a 4:00 pm Carmel Chamber of Commerce check presentation of proceeds from last summer's Dogs of Carmel Art Program to the Doris Day Animal Foundation.
