SUMMARY:DakhaBrakha
DESCRIPTION:After a sellout show in 2022\, Ukrainian "ethno-chaos" music sensation DakhaBrakha is back at Sunset Center!\n\nDakhaBrakha was formed in 2004 at the Kyiv Centre of Contemporary Art\, also known as DAKH\, by the avant-garde theatre director Vladyslav Troitskyi. The name is original\, outstanding\, and authentic\; it means "give/take" in the old Ukrainian language.\n\nWith their harmonic vocals and traditional Indian\, Arabic\, African\, and Ukrainian instrumentation\, DakhaBrakha taps into the universal elements of sound and soul to create a transnational experience rooted in Ukrainian culture. It is at once intimate and riotous\, ancient and contemporary. The band hopes their music will open?the potential of?Ukrainian melodies and return them?to?the hearts and minds of?the younger generation of?Ukrainians and the world.\n\nDakhaBrakha has played over 300 concerts and festivals throughout Eastern and Western Europe\, Russia\, Asia\, Australia\, and North America and has collaborated with such international musicians as Port Mone (Belarus)\, Kimmo Pohjonen Cluster (Finland)\, Karl Frierson/De Phazz) (Germany)\, Steve Cooney (Ireland)\, Inna Zhelannaya (Russia)\, Kievbass (Ukraine)\, Djam (Ukraine/Iran)\, and David Ingibaryan (Hungary).
