Through decades of university teaching and workshops held coast to coast\, Brian has long been highly regarded as an influential teacher and inspiring artist in the realm of alternative photographic processes. Don't know what that means? Well\, luckily Brian will be giving an artist talk in Carpenter Hall located inside the Sunset Center before his opening in the CPA gallery. Join us for a broad overview of his creative explorations spanning over 50 years\, portraying his fascination with beautifully antiquated 19th century photographic processes such as gum bichromate printing\, cyanotypes and selectively toned silver prints\, as well as handmade books\, poetry\, and mixing photography with drawing and painting. Brian aspires to create individual artworks which each contain a unique narrative  resulting in a gallery filled with stories.\n\n \n\nMany of you may know Brian Taylor as the former director of the Center for Photographic Art\, but 5 years ago he retired to his studio and darkroom to happily pick up where he'd left off: creating beautiful works of art that lie somewhere in between photography and painting (and reality and fantasy). He'll take us back in time to view the first photographic processes\, but with his unique twist and contemporary interpretation. Be prepared to be transported to unknown places and new worlds.\n\n \n\nDon't miss the chance to hear this important artist speak about his work and to see his landmark exhibition!
