About Us

Nicole Cromwell Gallery is an artist-owned contemporary art gallery in Carmel-by-the-Sea featuring the original work of local artist Nicole Cromwell. Located in the charming Su Vecino Courtyard on Dolores Street between 5th and 6th, the gallery offers an intimate setting to experience Nicole’s contemporary abstract seascapes, florals, and coastal-inspired paintings.

A former critical care nurse turned full-time artist, Nicole has called the Monterey Peninsula home for nearly 30 years. Her paintings are influenced by the light, atmosphere, and natural beauty of the Central Coast, with an emphasis on color, spacious compositions, and a sense of calm.

Nicole’s artwork is held in private collections throughout the United States and internationally, as well as in healthcare environments locally and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work has also been featured on the cover of the Journal of Critical Care Medicine.
In addition to available original artwork, Nicole works with collectors, interior designers, and other design professionals on commissions and artwork for residential, hospitality, and healthcare spaces.

Visitors are welcome to stop by the gallery to explore available work and learn more about Nicole’s process. If the gallery door is closed during your visit, please call or text. Nicole is often nearby and happy to open the gallery by appointment.
