Nielsen Bros. Market & Deli has a job opening for an experienced assistant manager. Must have working experience in grocery store.
Great customer service is essential. This position also requires collaborative and independent work and delegating. The Assistant Manager must be able to handle money accurately (i.e., run a register, and count down a register). Other responsibilities may include: monitoring the shifts of the employees, vacation days and sick leave (i.e., clocking in and clocking out on time). This position of assistant manager requires that the staff follow policies and procedures and to open and/or close the market. Must be able to merchandize products and make sales happen using management of our staff’s expertise, knowledge, and skills.
Nielsen Bros. Market & Deli sells epicurean groceries; the Market has a meat and deli department; we sell fresh produce; and Nielsen's has received accolades for its wine cellar and liquor store. Nielsen Bros. Market & Deli, a mini-supermarket, has been a landmark of Carmel-by-the-Sea for 90 years. The work environment is pleasant.
