The Monterey District Trail Crew is asking for volunteers to come out to Point Lobos to help improve the trail system within the Reserve. We will be offering two groups, morning from 9 am to noon and afternoon from noon to 3 pm. The groups will be working on improvements along the South Shore Trail. The trail is currently entrenched which is contributing to erosion along the bluffs by capturing and redirecting stormwater from its natural path. We will be filling and capping the trail to allow for proper drainage by importing and installing a new decomposed-granite surface.
Members of the Monterey District Trail Crew be present to provide an initial safety briefing and ongoing direction and oversight. Tools will be provided.
