Michael Azgour is a nationally-recognized artist and a much sought-after teacher of painting and drawing at Stanford University. Splitting his time between central California and Krawkow, Poland, Mr. Azgour combines evocative, expressive representation with geometric abstraction. He explores memory, technology, and change and how all of this comes together – or falls apart -- as we negotiate the world around us. His new body of work has relevance for California’s central coast in general and Carmel-by-the-Sea specifically. As never before Mr. Azgour is carefully documenting our timeless interaction with water, surf and sand.
